Dukan Diet Cruise Phase Day 1

I am so glad that I can now eat vegetables on alternate days. I am not sure if I will be able to last the 5 weeks I set myself for this second phase of the diet.

Today I went to the gym. Had a session with my trainer but we had to cut it short as I got so winded by the second routine I could not continue. It could be due to the fact that I have been recovering from a very bad flu but this exhaustion was something I felt for the first time while working out. I think it's got to do with the diet. My body has not taken in any carbohydrate in five days and when it was required to fuel itself through the exercise I was doing, it went into "shock".

So here's what I ate today.

Breakfast:
Oat bran galette and an egg sunny side up. I ran out of non-fat greek yoghurt so substituted it with normal non-fat yoghurt. Seems like the substitute made the galette more sourish and heavier. To cook the egg sunny side up, my dad had to use some oil to pan fry it. It's inevitable that some oil will be used. I know that zero or little oil is to be used during the first two phases but if it is too difficult to cook, I don't think I'll be able to sustain this diet.

Lunch:
Had my first lunch outside the home. After gym, I had lunch at Sushi Tei. Chawanmushi and a sashimi salad, without the salad dressing. Instead, I used soy sauce with wasabi.

I bought a diet peach tea snapple at the supermarket. Zero calorie. It tasted soooo bad. Yuck. I don't think I'll have that again.

Dinner:
Mom cooked a mixed vegetables with sliced pork and a spinach and tofu soup. And I just had a diet coke.

It's so easy when I can eat vegetables. But tomorrow is a pure protein non-veg day.
